Europe - the continent of contrasts, the home of many of our forefathers, the mecca of style. Isn’t it amazing that the land of the Rennasaince should also be the land where we designers go for NEW ideas even now. Having been born in Germany of German parents, but growing up in the United States (Minnesota), I feel this tug of contrasts. I visit my family on the Rhine and step back in time entering this mother’s home. Her wallpaper and carpet remind me of a Grandmother’s home growing up in MN, but then my nieces and nephews sport the latest fashions from Paris. I love Europe..Germany, France, Italy…I love to observe these clashes of culture and to return home to the midwest and share my insight with this family and friends. I think I bring a bit of that contrast home in myself with my design work, my attitude and my personality. Let me be the one to go with the group and document the sights, the ambiance of the people and places, the optimism of the future. Let me be the scribe bubbling out from within a person of design skills and window treatment experience. Let me share this experience through your eyes too (and I have a passport and speak passable German! ) Thank you for a chance to apply!
