After creating successful training programs for the industry’s biggest players, I have designed a window treatment certification course with you in mind. I’ll pull back the curtain to unveil the secrets of bespoke window treatments with this course- from offset pairs to calculating yardages and specifying dressmaker details. Link in bio.
I know that summer means navigating the balance between work and play. So I crafted a course format that works for you and your schedule. My online applied learning model consists of 12 weekly 1.5 hour sessions and allows you to choose from three options:
• The instructor-led virtual live streaming class with Q+A once a week
• The same video content recorded so you can watch at your own pace
• A combination of both live streaming and recorded content
Plus,. Each week I have a 1 hour mentoring session that offers you real time tools, advice, and inspiration all meant to help you master the intricate custom window covering niche. These sessions will include industry experts and experienced trainers to broaden your perspective.
Classes Start Wednesday, June 22, 2022

Pretty in Pink via @chateauversailles. These draperies are in the meridian cabinet in the intimate part of Marie Antoinette’s apartment at Versailles. After 3 years of architectural restoration, the curators turned to the fabrics. Using modern techniques to analyze original textiles recovered the color lab helped craft a color scheme based on the colors that the Queen would have known in 1784. This silk fabric is a delicate embroidery of small flowers and foliage on a lilac background. The panels were further embellished with trim and tied back with corded tassel Tiebacks held by a rosette. It’s all in the details! #chateaudeversailles #paris #france #palaceofversailles #stunningsilks #perfectpassementerie 📸 EPV/ Thomas Garnier

My current window fashion obsession is this stunning example by BHDM Design for DIFFA. What makes this drapery treatment so special is the size, scale and perfect proportions; the impeccable workmanship, and oh, did I mention it’s Red! Not to mention, the backstory is as compelling as the treatment itself.
BHDM did this installation for DIFFA to pay homage to the HIV/AIDS legacy. Inspired by the 3 miles of patchwork of quilts on the National Mall in 1987 honoring those who passed, thirty-five years later they felt it important to acknowledge this heritage through another quilt- a “symbol of protection, warmth and love- a fortress for dreamers.”
Designed by Dan Mazzarini, the installation is comprised of drapery panels pieced together fabricated from @Schumacher fabrics from flamestitch velvets to toile. The panels are hung from a series of circular frames descending in size to form a tent of sorts. Inner rings are wrapped and dressed with galloon braid ending in a large tassel. A pair of draperies topped by silk swags are elegantly wrapped in passementerie that are tied back revealing the installation. 📸 via BHDM Design and Interior Design #BHDMXDIFFA #DanMazzarini #windowdressings #statementcurtains #designmeetscraft #JPworkroom #perfectproportions #schumacherhospitality #shaw contract #ardwyndecorativetrim #williamstorms #circlevisual #RobertWeiss&Co #Cuancontracting

If you've traveled with us @decortours you've had the distinct pleasure to visit @ateliersjouffre. Now one of the best ateliers in the world has opened a showroom in NYC. A must visit if you are ever in the area. Working with Portugal based Garce and Dimofski, the showroom was inspired by Pierre Le Tan's illustrations and New Yorker cover. But the real star is Atelier Jouffre’s craftsmanship and an ability to perfectly marry tradition and edgy contemporary design; it is nothing short of genius. Jouffre's artisans have crafted these amazing treatments.

A French pole with brass rings in a dark bronze finish from @gauthier_et_compagnie is custom-finished in leather by @maisonfey. All in support of a luxurious panel from @ateliersjouffre, with hand-stitched Flemish pleats. 📸: @studio_erick_saillet via #gauthieretcompagnie and via #ateliersjouffre If you've traveled with us Decor Tours you've had the distinct pleasure to visit Atelier Charles Jouffre. I am sooooo ready to say good riddance to 2021 and welcome in 2022 with a toast to a brighter future. It has been a heck of a year for all of us, but I feel blessed to be part of this industry.
Up in the New Year, back by popular demand another session of my window treatment certification course, a new lineup of dynamic virtual design education classes and I’ll also be hosting our luxury Décor Tours to design destinations across the globe. Watch for the debut of my collection of Décor Dream Boxes, created from the decorative spoils I have collected. Think vintage, antique and contemporary fabrics, trimmings and linens. There’s so much to look forward to.
I wish you a very happy, healthy and safe New Year. Cheers to 2022!

Breaking New!: It's Official Veri Peri is the 2022 Color of the Year. Pantone made the decision to create a new color for the first time in their history to reflect the global innovation and transformation taking place. "As society continues to recognize color as a critical form of communication, and a way to express and affect ideas and emotions and engage and connect, the complexity of this new red violet infused blue hue highlights the expansive possibilities that lay before us”.
Encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time possessing a violet-red undertone, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression.
Displaying a carefree confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit, inquisitive and intriguing PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri helps us to embrace this altered landscape of possibilities, opening us up to a new vision as we rewrite our lives. Rekindling gratitude for some of the qualities that blue represents complemented by a new perspective that resonates today, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri places the future ahead in a new light.
(I know.. who knew a color could do all that?! The flowery words are from the press release....)
Are you a yay or nay on the COTY? #pantone #COTY #colortrends2022 #veriperi
