Everyone has a travel love language. Ours is Paris. Join us for a week of inspiration September 6-12, 2023. You'll spend a week exploring the hidden gems of Paris and its environs from Malmaison to fireworks at Vaux le Vicomte. For September 2023 we’re focusing on the glorious, glamorous history of "l’art de vivre." We've revamped our Paris Décor Tour itinerary to focus on truly unique design discoveries, atelier visits and Parisian experiences that capture that unique French savoir faire. We are calling it the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: French History Edition. Private tours of historic châteaux, visits to not-your-typical museums, unique special events, and so, so, much more. Dior does not disappoint with their new Enchanted Forest windows to celebrate the first anniversary of the reopening of their flagship on 30 rue Montaigne. The fairy tale windows are the perfect welcome to Spring. Fabulous flora and fauns all done by the petit mains from upcycled scraps of textiles, trims, and notions from the ateliers, as a tribute to their exceptional savoir-faire. Look closely for zipper heads, rings, buckles and more. Creativity and ingenuity at its best. But of course, it’s DIOR. See the windows in person this September with our Paris Décor Tour as we explore the French l’art de vivre. Kicking off Paris Deco Off with the amazing Patrick Frey’s presentation of the new 2023 Pierre Frey Collections. ü RSVP’ed events- Super excited to see Braquenie’s bicentennial collection mise en scene at Chateau de Louye. ü Museum and exhibition tickets in hand-Art Deco France, Le Chic 1930-1960, The 80’s in Fashion and Design, and of course another visit to Hotel de la Marine. ü Décor Tour Site checks- I’ll be visiting ateliers, makers, workshops and secret sources for our September tour. ü Shopping lists complete- It’s January sale time in France! Oh, the Pharmacies, the couture, the jewelry, the fabrics; not to mention the Marche des Puces- I see vintage textiles, trim and tabletop in my future or an Art Poster maybe?? Too many stops and not enough time. ü Dinner reservations @old school and new wave restaurants; plus 1or 2 of my favorites.
