In the world of architecture, Frank Lloyd Wright’s name is synonymous with innovative design, seamless integration with nature, and an ever-evolving exploration of form. But one of his lesser-known, but significant contributions is his design of the stage curtain at the Hillside Theater in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Now, more than half a century after its creation, the iconic curtain has been renovated and it’s stunning. Read the full story. The pixelated designs of the Weaving Collection create dynamic three-dimensional effects in two colorways that play with light, color, and the subtle sheen of aluminum, evoking the qualities of textiles while maintaining the durability of metal.
Who knew metal and textile were the perfect combination? The connection between Kriskadecor and the textile world is no mere coincidence. Although Kriskadecor curtains are made from anodized aluminum, they behave like textiles due to their lightness and fluidity. The chains, cascading with a gentle sway, create a floating and ethereal effect.
Kriskadecor creates custom projects including window coverings with aluminum color anodized links. Everything is created with small, aluminum links originally patented in 1932, it comes in 2 sizes- Kriska, the versatile standard size and Snina, the delicate one for more definition. Treating the chains like fabric, they come in 2 density options- standard-suitable for most uses and half drop providing higher opacity and a stronger visual impact. The anodizing process brings color, stability and hardness to the chain links. Mounting options include fixed, mobile straight or curved. The company, also based in U.S. can also reproduce text, images, and patterns.
